GOATS AS PETS

IMG_8913 - Copy_edited.jpg

Goats make great pets but as they are a herd animals keeping one on its own is not an option.

They need a good shelter as they absolutely hate the rain.

They require their feet trimmed regularly (appro. every 3 months) and this is quite an easy process

You will require a Pic number (Property Identification Code) which is not difficult to obtain at no cost from the NLIS data base.

They are natural browsers so eat things like bushes, trees leaves and shrubs.  If they are not living in their natural environment you will of course need to subustitute their diet with hay, goat mix and minerals and ensure that they always have access to clean water.

A close eye needs to be kept on worms and lice and vaccinations twice a year.

IF ALL OF THIS SEEMS DAUNTING WE ARE ALWAYS AVAILABLE TO ADVISE KNOWING THAT THE BENEFITS OF THESE WONDERFUL LITTLE ANIMALS GREATLY OUT WEIGHS THE ABOVE.

                                                            BEWARE HOWEVER THEY BECOME ADDICTIVE
